James Donald McElmury (born October 3, 1949 in Saint Paul, Minnesota) is a retired professional ice hockey player who played 180 games in the National Hockey League between 1972 and 1978.
He played with the Minnesota North Stars, Kansas City Scouts and the Colorado Rockies after starring for the Bemidji State University men's ice hockey team. He was also a member of the United States national team at the 1972 Winter Olympics as well as the 1971 and 1977 World Ice Hockey Championships.
