James E. "Jim" Price (born November 27, 1949) is a retired American professional basketball player. After starring at the University of Louisville, the 6' 3" Price was drafted by the Los Angeles Lakers in the second round of the 1972 NBA Draft. Price would go on to play seven NBA seasons (1972–1979), spending time with the Lakers, Milwaukee Bucks, Buffalo Braves, Denver Nuggets and Detroit Pistons. He was an All-Star in 1975, and he retired with 5,088 career points.
He led his high school to the State Finals in 1966; the Titans finished the season with a 25-4 record.[2]
Following his playing career, Price entered the coaching ranks; he spent nearly 5 years as the head coach of the IUPUI Jaguars women's team, totaling a record of 73-55 and 3 NAIA post-season berths.[3]
