João Câmara

João Câmara Filho (born in João Pessoa, Paraíba (Brazil), in 1944) is a Brazilian painter. He lives and works in Olinda, in the state of Pernambuco.
Perhaps his most famous paintings are from the "Scenes from Brazilian Life" produced between 1974 and 1976, this series comprises 10 paintings and 100 lithographs on the theme of the Vargas period in Brazilian History, Getúlio Vargas, (1883-1954) was President and Dictator of Brazil.
João Câmara is also known for his series on Recife (Two Cities series) and his nudes ("Ten Love affairs" series).
