Joaquín Vargas Gómez

Joaquín Vargas Gómez (born in Linares, Nuevo León, Mexico in September 1925, died Santa Fe, Mexico City on 28 November 2009) was a Mexican media mogul and owner of MVS Comunicaciones running a group of radio stations known as MVS Radio in Mexico and in many Latin American countries, as well as a few stations in the United States.

He started his media conglomerate by creating Stereorey in 1967 as first major Mexican FM station[1] and expanded to all major cities in Mexico throughout the 1970s. He further established FM Globo and later on EXA and La Mejor series of radio stations..

In the 1990s, he expanded to television through Grupo Telerey and MVS Multivisión.
