Career

Joe has had his work nominated for three Juno Awards in 2003 and 2004 for "Best Dance Recording of the Year". In 2005 he produced an album for Samantha Fox, entitled, “Angel with an Attitude”. In 2005, Joe Barrucco sound designed and scored music for director and writer’s Jeff Barnaby’s film called “From Cherry English”, which was selected to be a part of the Sundance Film Festival. In 2006, Joe Barrucco completed sound and musical production on the theater production entitled “J.O.B the Hip-Hopera” which earned him a Los Angeles Ovation Award nomination for best sound design. In 2007, Joe Barrucco completed the entire sound design for the film entitled “The Colony” [1] written and directed by Jeff Barnaby and produced by Eye Steel Film. “The Colony” won the 2007 ImagineNative Film Festival award for “Best Short Film”. Also, “The Colony” was officially selected to be a part of the “2007 Toronto International Film Festival”. “The Colony” will be broadcast on CBC Television and APTN.

Joe Barrucco has also produced music for Sony-BMG Music (Canada), gold and platinum artist MC Mario.

Family

His sister Christina Barrucco, is a talented Soprano, who pursued her Masters of Performance at the Université de Montréal after obtaining a BA in Performance from McGill University.

His brother Vince Barrucco, is a radio personality on Virgin 96 Montréal under the alias of Cousin Vinny. Vince used to be Program Director and afternoon drive home host (weekdays 15:00-18:00) at K103.7FM (CKRK-FM) in Kahnawake, Quebec, Canada located on the South Shore of Montreal, and previously a sports personality on The Team 990 and CKGM.
