Joseph Purzycki (born February 20, 1947) was a college football head coach for Delaware State University and James Madison University between 1981 and 1990. Purzycki was the first white man to ever be named a head football coach at an historically black college, which occurred when he was elected Delaware State's newest head coach in 1981. Purzycki was an assistant at the University of Delaware prior to his Delaware State tenure, where he learned the Wing T offense from College Football Hall of Fame coach Tubby Raymond.
