Joel Leslie

Joel Leslie (born March 8, 1975) is an Australian entrepreneur. He is founder of the real estate news publication Agent Focus [1] and known for his work with technology for Not for Profit [2] and private sectors in Australia and the United States. Joel is generally recognised for his work with the association Australian Property Institute and Raine and Horne.[3]

Professional career

Leslie is better known for his achievements in real estate technology & marketing, where he developed technology & marketing solutions for the real estate industry. In 2010, Leslie became the Managing Editor of the property publication Australia and New Zealand Property Journal [4] and in 2014 Contributing Editor of Property Portal Watch.[5] In the same year, Leslie took his Australian based print publication, Agent Focus to the internet.

Early and personal life

Leslie was born in Wollongong, NSW Australia, to parents Marilyn & Raymond Leslie. Leslie's brother is Drouyne Leslie, Australian professional surfer and his cousins are professional golfer Katy Jarochowicz,[6] and Simon Jarochowicz, property developer.

His childhood was spent in the seaside town of Kiama, NSW, where he attended primary school at Minnamurra Primary School and later attending Kiama High School. He graduated in 1993 from Kiama and commenced a role as a Caretaker for an amusement park Jamberoo Action Park, enrolling in an Applied Science - Landscape major. He later commenced a role in electronics and migrated to Sydney, NSW where he began an Information Technology career. Leslie soon commenced his renown career in real estate and ventured further in to marketing, attending university in Sydney. He later migrated to Noosa, QLD Australia with his family, where he is semi retired.
