Sir John Arundell, born in Bideford, Devon in about 1421. He became the largest free tenant in Cornwall. He was Sheriff of Cornwall and admiral of Cornwall, and a general for Henry VI in his French wars, but was attainted in 1483.[1]
Career
He was knighted by Edward IV in 1463 and fought at the Battle of Tewkesbury in 1471.[2]

Marriage and issue
He married, firstly, Elizabeth Morley, daughter of Thomas de Morley, 5th Baron Morley. They had one child;
- Anne Arundell who married James Tyrrell, best known for allegedly confessing to the murders of the Princes in the Tower under Richard of York's orders.
He married secondly, Katherine Chideocke, the widow of William Stafford, on 5 March 1451. They had eight children;

John Arundell died in November 1473 at Lanherne, in Cornwall.
