John Bourgeois is a bilingual actor, director, and educator.

Life and career

John Bourgeois was born in Ottawa, Ontario. He received his training at Webber Douglas Academy of Dramatic Art in London and Concordia University in Montreal, Quebec where he obtained a Bachelor of Arts in English and theatre.

John has appeared in leading and character roles on stages in Montreal, Quebec; Toronto, Ontario; Edmonton, Alberta; Regina, Saskatchewan; Fredericton, New Brunswick; as well as the Stratford Shakespeare Festival, Off-Broadway, and the Walnut Street theatre in Philadelphia. He has appeared in several leading roles for the Manitoba Theatre Centre. As a director, he has staged both modern and classic plays across Canada and has produced and directed several short films. In 2002, his one-man show Tansey's Brag was acclaimed at the Toronto Fringe Festival and was subsequently taped for television and radio.

An accomplished screen actor, he has appeared in character roles in episodic television, movies of the week, international mini-series as well as in both major studio and independent feature films. In 2010, he appeared in The Kennedys, an eight-part series for the History Channel.

He is the director of the screen acting program at Humber College in Toronto, Ontario.
