John F. Cherry

John F. Cherry is an Aegean prehistorian and survey archaeologist. He is Joukowsky Family Professor in Archaeology and Professor of Classics at the Joukowsky Institute for Archaeology and the Ancient World at Brown University[1] (where Susan E. Alcock is the director)

He currently co-directs the Survey and Landscape Archaeology on Montserrat project (SLAM) in the West Indies, and has co-directed the Vorotan Project in Southern Armenia and archaeological surveys of Melos, Northern Keos and the Nemea Valley in southern Greece.[1] Previously he was director of the Interdepartmental Program in Classical Art and Archaeology at the University of Michigan.[1] He received his PhD from the University of Southampton, where Colin Renfrew was his thesis advisor.
