John J. Long was a college men's basketball coach. He was the head coach of Catholic from 1943 to 1944. He coached Catholic to a 17-7 record, playing in one NCAA tournament in 1944. He was an athlete at Catholic, playing basketball from 1925-28. He was inducted into the Catholic athletics Hall of Fame in 1977.[1]
