John Luke Gallup (born January 16, 1962) is an American economist.
Gallup got his PhD in 1994 at the University of California, Berkeley.[1] From 1996 to 2000 he was a Research Fellow at the Center for International Development at Harvard University. From 2008 to 2009 he was Fulbright Scholar at the Vietnam University of Commerce in Hanoi. He worked with Jeffrey Sachs and Andrew Mellinger on the issue of geography.
