John Shillito

John Shillito is the American football head coach at Zeeland West High School in Zeeland, Michigan, United States. He is the only head football coach in Zeeland West history as the school was opened in 2004. His current record at Zeeland West is 111-22 (.834)[1] Shillito played college football for Central Michigan University where he won 3 varsity letters. His first head coaching job was at Comstock Park High School in Michigan where he coached from 1982-1984. He then made a much longer stop at Orchard View High School in Michigan where he coached from 1986-1999.[2] He then coached at East Kentwood High School from 2000-2003 before taking the job at Zeeland West. Shillito has won 4 MHSAA State Titles, all with Zeeland West (2006, 2011, 2013, 2015), and has 3 state runner up finishes. He has been awarded the MHSAA Coach of the Year award 3 times.[2] Shillito was inducted into the MHSFA coaching hall of fame in 2005.[2] His longtime defensive coordinator is Greg Hoogland.
