John St Barbe

John St Barbe (1742-1816) was a prominent English shipbroker and shipowner active in whaling, the transport of convicts and the slave trade.[1]

St Barbe was one of the owners of theSandown, a slave ship whose voyage of 1793-4 was recorded by Samuel Gamble.[2]
