John Tyrrell (born 1942) is a British musicologist. Born in Salisbury, Southern Rhodesia (now Harare, Zimbabwe), he studied at the universities of Cape Town, Oxford and Brno. In 2000 he was appointed Research Professor at Cardiff University.
He has published several books on Leoš Janáček.
