John Young (21 December 1930 – 3 November 2011[1]) was a Scottish politician. He was a Conservative and Unionist Member of the Scottish Parliament for the West of Scotland from 1999 to 2003.
He was previously leader of Glasgow District Council from 1977 to 1980. In the Scottish Parliament he was Conservative Deputy Spokesman on Transport and Environment and was a member of the Scottish Parliamentary Corporate Body. He retired at the 2003 election, and died in November 2011 at the age of 80.
