Career
Songwriting
Asher's latest work, "I" by Korean superstar Kim Tae-yeon, was released on October 7, 2015 under S.M. Entertainment. The song was co-written in English with recording act My Crazy Girlfriend and David "DQ" Quiñones. On October 5, 2015 S.M. Entertainment released a preview of Taeyeon's music video for "I" exclusively for online audiences where it received a fantastic reception with over 3,500,000 views in just 36 hours. Taeyeon's single, "I", debuted at #1 in over 12 countries worldwide, while her mini album self-titled "I", debuted at #1 on the (Billboard World Album chart)[1]
In 2014, Jon Asher co-wrote "Champagne", in collaboration with Metamorphosis Music / Capitol Records recording artist Ferras and "Dark Horse" co-writer Sarah Hudson for Ferras' debut, "Ferras". The song was performed live during Ferras' set as the opening act for Katy Perry's The Prismatic World Tour. Asher was present for the Los Angeles, Arizona and Las Vegas dates during the American leg of the tour. Jon Asher also co-wrote the summer smash "American Girl" with Bonnie McKee, released to iTunes on July 23, 2013 as the lead single off McKee's upcoming second Album. Peaking at #97 on the U.S. Billboard Hot 100 and #25 on the U.S. Pop Songs (Billboard), In August 2013 Bonnie McKee's "American Girl" became Jon Asher's first Billboard charting Hot 100.[2]
In 2011, Jon Asher co-wrote two massive Top 20 singles in Australia "Loud" and "Light It Up", co-written for Australian popstar Stan Walker.[3] "Loud" was released on 2, May 2011 to iTunes Australia.[4] "Loud" debuted at number thirty-eight on the ARIA Singles Chart on 16 May 2011, and peaked at number nine on 20 June 2011.[5] It is Walker's second top-ten single in Australia following "Black Box" (2009), and has since been certified Platinum by the Australian Recording Industry Association (ARIA), for shipments of 70,000 units.[6] On the New Zealand Singles Chart "Loud" entered at number thirty on 16 May 2011.[7] It peaked at number eight on 11 July 2011, and became Walker's fourth top-ten hit in New Zealand.[7] The Recording Industry Association of New Zealand (RIANZ), certified "Loud" Gold for shipping 7,500 copies.[7]
On 26 September 2011, Stan Walkers "Light It Up" debuted and peaked at number 23 on the New Zealand Singles Chart.[8] On 7 November 2011, it debuted at number 45 on the Australian ARIA Singles Chart.[9]
In October 2012, Jon Asher teamed with EDM supergroup Dada Life in a collaboration of the song "Boing Clash Boom". The track features pop vocals by songwriter and artist Mickey Shiloh and was recorded over the course of 2011 and 2012. Remixes include collaborations by Major Lazer, Bingo Players and newcomer Pierce Fulton.

Acting
As an actor, Jon Asher made his "silver screen" Hollywood debut with an appearance in the 2011 Imagine Entertainment / Universal Pictures production Take Me Home Tonight (film). Asher is featured during the proposal scene of the house party between actors Chris Pratt and Anna Faris. Asher is seen portraying a somewhat "Flock of Seagulls" type character that Pratt refers to in the scene as "Trevor", standing to the left of Topher Grace. Jon's involvement with the film spanned across 20 days with most shots filmed through the late night into the early mornings of February 2007. The film, "T.M.H.T", also stars Teresa Palmer, Candace Kroslak and was Directed by Michael Dowse.
