Jonathan Samuels

Jonathan Samuels (born 1972) is Australia correspondent for Sky News, the 24-hour television news service operated by Sky Television, part of British Sky Broadcasting. He has been based in Sydney since 2011.^[1]

Previously, Samuels was chief correspondent on Five News and an occasional presenter.^[2] He was a reporter for Sky News and before that, a journalist with the BBC, where he presented and reported for BBC Look East and BBC Spotlight. He began his broadcasting career as a BBC trainee at BBC Radio Cornwall.^[3]

Education

Samuels was educated at The King's School, an independent school in Chester in Cheshire, and later studied at Loughborough University and then Cardiff University, where he obtained his postgraduate diploma in broadcast journalism.

Life and career

As Sky News Chief Correspondent, Samuels has covered the main domestic and international stories. In the last few years he has reported from Iraq, covered the crisis in Zimbabwe, broadcast from the Falkland Islands, was in the United States for the recent election and covered the conflicts between Israel and Gaza, and Israel and Lebanon. At Sky News he presented the Michael Jackson trial reconstructions which also aired on Sky One.^[4]
