Jonathan Tivadar Soros (b. 1970) is an American investor and liberal political donor.[2] He is the chief executive officer of JS Capital Management LLC, a private investment firm which he started in 2012.[3] Soros worked at Soros Fund Management from 2002 to 2011.[4]

He has been a major donor to Democratic and progressive political causes.[5] He is the son of Annaliese Witschak and billionaire business magnate George Soros.[6]

Education

Soros is a 1992 graduate of Wesleyan University in Connecticut[7][8][9] and attended Harvard Law School.[10]

Political advocacy

Soros started and funded Friends of Democracy PAC, a hybrid political action committee and super PAC designed to push sweeping campaign finance reforms that would mandate a robust public financing system for all federal elections. Soros' organization was described as an "anti-super PAC super PAC" by the Washington Post.[11] Soros has worked with MoveOn.org and other political advocacy groups. He is a senior fellow at the Roosevelt Institute and a member of the board of directors of the New America Foundation and the Open Society Foundations.[12] He is a donor to the Democracy Alliance.[13]

Personal life

Soros married Jennifer Allan in 1997. The two first met while working for the 1992 Clinton-Gore presidential campaign.[10]
