Jordan Roughead (born 3 November 1990) is an Australian rules footballer who plays for the Western Bulldogs in the Australian Football League (AFL). Roughead plays most of his football as a Fullback, after beginning his career as a Forward-Ruckman. He was selected with the 31st selection in the 2008 AFL Draft, after playing for the North Ballarat Rebels in the TAC Cup.[1] He was earlier predicted to be a possible first round selection. He is the cousin of Hawthorn's Jarryd Roughead.[2]
Roughead grew up a Bulldogs supporter.[3]
In Round 5, 2010, Roughead made his AFL debut against Adelaide at Etihad Stadium. He performed well, gathering 9 disposals (3 kicks and 6 handballs), taking 4 marks, making 3 tackles and also kicking a goal.[4]
During the 2012 season, Bulldogs coach Brendan McCartney moved Roughead to the Full Back position, where he has remained to date and excelled. In Round 3, 2014, Roughead dislocated his AC joint and missed the following 8 weeks.
Roughead was announced as the vice captain for 2015.
