Jordan Sonnenblick (born July 4, 1969) is an American writer of young-adult fiction. He is a graduate of New York City's Stuyvesant High School (1987), and of the University of Pennsylvania.[1]
Personal life
Sonnenblick was born on July 4, 1969, at the army base in Fort Leonard Wood, Missouri. He grew up in Staten Island, New York. He married his wife in 1991, after graduating from college, and they moved to Pennsylvania. He now resides in Bethlehem, Pennsylvania with his wife and children.[1] As a result, he frequently visits schools in that area to talk about his books.
Career
Sonnenblick taught 8th grade English at Phillipsburg Middle School in New Jersey for eleven years before he decided to start writing books, debuting with the novel Drums, Girls, and Dangerous Pie. The inspiration for his debut novel is the cancer-stricken brother of one of his students.[2] He has always wanted to be an author and also plays the guitar and drums.
