Jorge Luis González Tanquero is a Cuban dissident.[1] He has been declared as a prisoner of conscience by Amnesty International.[2]
When his family exiled to the United States, the President of the United States noted "They recently arrived from Cuba, but without Melissa's father. Jorge Luis Gonzalez Tanquero dared to defend the human rights of his countrymen. For that, he was arrested for crimes against the state. Now he languishes in poor health inside a Cuban prison".[3]
