Joseph Sewell (active 1931–33) was a footballer who played at outside right in the Football League for Darlington.[1]
Sewell, who played as an amateur,[2] made his debut in January 1932 in a 3–1 defeat at Chester in the Third Division North.[3] He played into the 1932–33 season,[4] and finished his Darlington career with 11 League appearances.[1] He also played for Crook Town.[5]
Sewell married Jenny Henderson at South Hetton, County Durham, in 1933.[5]

A former Crook and Darlington footballer, Mr Joseph Sewell, son of Mr and Mrs Sewell, of Chester-le-Street, was married to Miss Jenny Henderson, daughter of Mrs and the late Mr George Henderson, of South Hetton, at Holy Trinity Church, South Hetton.
