Josh Weil is an American author. He is the recipient of the 2010 Sue Kaufman Prize for First Fiction for his novella collection The New Valley. His debut novel, The Great Glass Sea was praised by Colum McCann, who stated Weil is “among the most gifted writers of his generation.”[1] The Great Glass Sea is a grand fable set in a 21st-century Russian town called Petroplavilsk.[2]The New York Times described the book as "a fantastical vision inspired by bits and pieces of Russian language, history and culture" and Los Angeles Times called it "an epic fantasy of brotherly bonds."[3][4] The book was also the recipient of the Dayton Literary Peace Prize for Fiction.[5][6]
