Joshua Lauren Alba (born July 8, 1982) is an American actor. He is best known for his role as Krit on the television series Dark Angel. He is the younger brother of actress Jessica Alba.
Early life
Alba was born in Biloxi, Mississippi, the son of Catherine Louisa (née Jensen) and Mark Alba. His mother is of Danish, Welsh, German, English, and French descent, and Alba's father is Mexican American, though both of his parents were born in California.[1][2] Alba's parents married in their teenage years.[3][4][5] His maternal grandfather was a Marine NCO for 30 years, serving in the Pacific during World War II, and later as Assistant Drum Major for the United States Marine Band. Alba was raised in an Air Force family with his sister, Jessica and his grandparents. His father's air force career took the family to Biloxi, Mississippi, and Del Rio, Texas before settling back in California.
Career
Alba began his acting career at the age of 18 when he got cast as Krit, in the first season finale of the cyberpunk science fiction television series Dark Angel, of which his sister Jessica Alba was the star.[6] He later starred in an episode of The Division. He made a cameo appearance in an episode of Monk as the first student. Alba finally made his big screen debut in a small role in Alpha Dog. His other film credits include The Dead Undead, I Am Somebody: No Chance in Hell, Now Here, Creative Differences, Kill Speed and more recently, Hyenas. He also stars in the video game in the Need for Speed franchise Need for Speed: Undercover as Zack Maio a street racer/car thief.
