Julien Edwards (born July 30, 1988) is a Guyanese footballer who plays for FC Gatineau.[1]

Playing career

Edwards began playing at the college level with Drake Bulldogs in 2006, where he appeared in a total of 50 matches, and earned All-Missouri Valley Conference first team and was selected for the NSCAA All-Region team in 2009.[2] In 2011, he signed his first professional contract with newly expansion franchise Capital City F.C. of the Canadian Soccer League. During the 2011 CSL season he helped the Ottawa-based team finish third in the overall standings, and thus clinching a playoff berth. He also helped Capital achieve the second best defensive record throughout the season. In the postseason he helped Ottawa reach the CSL Championship finals where they met Toronto Croatia. The match would conclude in a 1-0 victory for Toronto Croatia.[3]

On June 29, 2012, Edwards was signed by Kingston FC, after Capital ceased operations.[4] With Kingston he finished 14th in the overall standings thus failing to acquire a postseason berth.

International career

Edwards made his debut for the Guyana national football team on March 31, 2012 in a friendly match against French Guinea. He featured in the 2012 Caribbean Cup qualification match against Saint Vincent and the Grenadines national football team. In total he has earned six caps for Guyana.[5]
