Joventino Couto Remotigue also known as Jun Kung (Chinese: 恭碩良; pinyin: ɡōnɡ shuò liánɡ; born August 18, 1977) is a drummer, singer and songwriter who resides in Hong Kong.
Biography
He is known for being “the drummer” in Hong Kong, also a singer songwriter and music producer. Born in Hong Kong, he spent his early years in Macau and went to Drummer's collective NYC and continued his studies in music. In June, 1999 he released his first EP “Here & Now” and won the 2000 Hong Kong Commercial Radio Music Award New Artist – 1st place. In July 2001 Jun released his 2nd album “No Where Man” and in 2008 an independent album “Ginja Rock EP”. For the passed decade, Jun has paid more attention off the centre stage and in recording production. As a musician, he was a member for Paul Wong’s band “Hann” and toured with pop singers in Hong Kong, one of the many was Jacky Cheung, who once described Jun as one of the best drummer. Jun was part of Cheung’s “The Year Of Jacky Cheung World Tour ‘07” for all 105 shows over 60 cities. After that, he was invited by Eason Chan to be his drummer for Chan’s sixth record-breaking theme concert, “Duo Eason Chan 2010 Concert ” at the Hong Kong Coliseum for a total of 18 shows, followed by the “Duo Eason Chan World Tour” which now will goes on till 2012. Concurrently, Jun is also touring with Faye Wong, Sandy Lam and more acclaimed artists in China and Taiwan in the near future.
Solo career
As a solo artist, there was “Jun K”, the long-waited 4th album that was released in September 2010 and simultaneously with the “Jun on The Moon Live 2010” concert. Jacky Cheung, Sandy Lam, 24HERBS and Terence Yin was the guests of the concert. Jun has returned to the big screen and played a part in "Rebellion” and created a very memorable character within the audiences and “Punish”, starring Anthony Wong and Richie Ren. Other than being an actor, Jun is constantly composing for movie soundtracks, his early works included “Time and Tide”, “Night Corridor”, “The Heavenly Kings”, “Gallants” and recently “Merry-Go-Around”. His original song “Here to Stay” for “Merry-Go-Around” also won “The 30th Hong Kong Film Award Best Original Film Song”. Jun is expecting to release his brand new album in the Fall of 2011.
