Li Chun (simplified Chinese: 李纯; traditional Chinese: 李純; pinyin: Lǐ Chún; born January 11, 1988 in Yueyang, Hunan, China) is a Chinese singer and actress. Better known as Junjun (ジュンジュン), she is a former member of the Japanese girl group Morning Musume. Along with Qian Lin, she is one of the few non-Japanese members in the history of Morning Musume.[1]

Biography

In 2006, Li Chun participated the Super Girl singing contest, but failed to enter the top 10.[1] After the contest, Tsunku contacted her and the other Super Girl contestants, who failed to reach the top 10, and held an audition for Morning Musume in Beijing, China. The said audition was even kept secret from the members of Morning Musume themselves.[2]

On March 15, 2007, Li was officially announced to be joining the eighth generation of all girl J-pop group Morning Musume as a "foreign student".[1][3] Tsunku believed that she and Qian would be the key for Morning Musume's planned expansion into Asia in 2007.[2][4][5] Three days later, on March 18, she made her Japanese television debut on Hello! Morning. Within the same week, she moved to Tokyo, Japan.[2]

Her first stage appearance took place during Morning Musume leader Hitomi Yoshizawa's graduation concert on May 6, 2007 at Saitama Super Arena.

In 2009, she was assigned to be a part of the new shuffle group zoku v-u-den, along with Morning Musume member Sayumi Michishige and Berryz Kobo member Risako Sugaya.

On August 8, 2010, Tsunku announced that in the Morning Musume 2010 Rival Survival fall concert tour Junjun would graduate from Morning Musume along with Linlin and Eri Kamei.[6][7] They graduated on the last day of the tour, which occurred on December 15. Junjun sung "Furusato" as her graduation song.

In late August 2011, she was announced to be cast in a Chinese school-life film "Love for a Second" and as of early September 2011, she was discovered to be enrolling in the famous Beijing Film Academy, studying Performance Arts.[8]
