Junko Mihara

Junko Mihara (三原 じゅん子 Mihara Junko, born September 13, 1964 in Itabashi, Tokyo, Japan) is a Japanese politician, former singer, car racer, and actress.

Political career

Mihara ran in House of Councillors election in 2010 as a proportional candidate of Liberal Democratic Party[1] and won.

Controversial views

Mihara is in favor of visits to the controversial Yasukuni Shrine.[3]

In March 2015, she urged Prime Minister Shinzō Abe to promote "Hakkō ichiu", a slogan used to justify Imperial Japan's expansionism".[4]
