Justin Gullett is a filmmaker from Memphis, TN. He is a graduate of the University of Memphis Film program, having also studied graphic design and photography.[1] He won awards in addition to being the winner of the online competition in Steven Spielberg’s On the Lot online Movie Making Video Challenge for his three original short films. Justin has won three national and one global film award and has been acclaimed by Hollywood legends and the general public through the Fox program “On the Lot” and “The Next GAC Star.”

In 2012, Justin[2] founded the motion picture company, Red Thread Pictures, LLC. Justin's company, Red Thread Pictures, LLC[3] is based in Los Angeles, California and in Memphis, Tennessee.

Career & Filmography

In 2007, Justin won Steven Spielberg’s On the Lot Online Movie Making Video Challenge for his three original short films , “Chance Encounter”, “Distortion, and “Suspension that Justin wrote, produced, casted, and directed while only being allotted five days per film from concept to finish.[1]

In 2008 Justin Gullett won the award for The Next GAC Star [4] for his direction of the music video “Hotty Totty”.[4] Justin also directed the award winning music video "Barnyard Pimp"

In 2010, Gullet was Executive Producer on the Memphis-based film, A Fine Step. Gullet also served as Second Unit Director on that film.[5]

In 2011, he announced via his website[6] that he was working on the hitman thriller The Last Story of David Allan. Gullett has also directed five TV pilots in the last year and is currently in production on “Vetted”, a series. Gullet is also currently developing a documentary around Olympic swimmer, Ryan Lochte.[1] He is also attached to direct a $38 million feature film from Alpha/Omega Entertainment group[1] called Speedway Cowboys.[7]

Gullett is also responsible for publishing the biography "TEED OFF", about eccentric PGA star and professional golfer John Daly, written by Sherrie Daly, the golfer's former wife.[1]

In 2011, Gullett received the honor of being personally invited to Russia by Russian President Putin on behalf of the nation of Russia as one of the top fifty businessmen in the United States between the ages of twenty-five and thirty-five.[8] Justin represented the entire United States film industry in Russia.[9]

In 2012, Justin founded the motion picture company, Red Thread Pictures, LLC.

Justin and Red Thread Pictures, LLC directed and produced the highly anticipated home workout series LOCHTE hard-CORE Vol. 1,[10] starring 11 time Olympic gold medalist Ryan Lochte and his world-renowned trainer Matt DeLancey.

Justin directed and released the Film Ad produced alongside Executive Producer Larry Thornton for Love Worth Finding Ministries with Dr. Adrian Rogers. Compelling and contagious, this film ad quickly went viral and circled the world in a mere forty-eight hours. Its powerful and timeless message has helped reshape and energize the ongoing efforts of Love Worth Finding.

In 2014, Justin Gullett and Larry Thornton welcomed partner, director, and producer Harvey Lowry to Red Thread Pictures, LLC. Harvey has supervised the production, special effects, makeup effects, visual effects, animatronics and/or specialty costumes for over 150 feature films, television shows, music videos, commercials and documentaries.

In 2014, Justin Second Unit Directed on the short film "Light On Sunshine" alongside partner, Harvey Lowry.

Justin directed and produced National TV Ads for Brim's Snack Foods. Justin with Red Thread Pictures, LLC rebranded Brim's Snack Foods. Brim's new campaign, "What's Your Crunch?" launches in 2016.

In 2015, Justin Gullett with Red Thread Pictures, LLC directed and produced the "It Starts In Me" Global Ad for Bellevue Baptist Church in Memphis, Tennessee.

In 2014, Justin Produced and Second Unit Directed the feature film thriller “Cassidy Way[11] alongside partner and director Harvey Lowry and Executive Producer, Larry Thornton. The Film is a Red Thread Pictures, LLC production and releases worldwide February 23, 2016.[12]

Gullett Second Unit Directed the feature film "Union Bound" in July 2014. In this Civil War film, A Union Soldier in the Civil War goes to war to free slaves but finds that he is freed by them. Union Bound[13] is Produced by Red Thread Pictures, LLC and Uptone Pictures and releases worldwide April 22, 2016.[14]

In 2015, Justin Second Unit Directed the feature film "Dance Night Obsession" alongside Production Company, Red Thread Pictures, LLC. "Dance Night Obsession" is in post-production and releases worldwide in Fall 2016.
