    Justin James Packshaw MBE (born 13 March 1965, London) is an English entrepreneur, philanthropist and adventurer.

    Career

    An officer in the British Army (4th/7th Royal Dragoon Guards) for eight years where he was involved throughout the first Gulf War in 1990 and was Equerry to HRH The Duchess of Kent. He left the Army and took a Masters Degree in Business at Edinburgh University. He is now the co-founder and Managing Director of the fashion label De Roemer.

    Expeditions

    In 1990 he represented Britain in the Whitbread Round the World Yacht Race and was awarded the Bollinger award for outstanding crewman. In 1996 he rode horses through Mongolia in conjunction with the National University of Mongolia in search of the Tsaatan reindeer tribes. In 1999 he co-led a motorbike expedition through East Africa. In 2005 he and his team-mate, Christina Franco won a 450-mile man-hauling race to the 1996 position of the Magnetic North Pole. In 2008 he set out to walk the last degree to the Geographic North Pole with David Hempleman-Adams and Rune Gjeldnes, but their journey was cut short due to adverse ice conditions but they still managed to reach the North Pole. In 2011 he summited Mount Everest from the North side (Tibet) along the North East Ridge. In November 2012 he co-led an expedition taking three wounded soldiers from the British Army to the Geographic South Pole. In April 2014 he led an expedition to jetski across the Nigerian border from Cameroon to Benin Republic to launch 'Challenge 100'. In November 2014 he led an expedition 'Footsteps of Legends' with two wounded soldiers from the British Army in his team which successfully replicated Sir Ernest Shackleton audacious rescue of his crew from Elephant Island in Antarctica on his Endurance Expedition of 1914. In April 2015 he led a team of entrepreneurs walking the final 60 nautical miles to the Geographic North Pole on behalf of the Princes Trust 'Arctic Enterprise', in particular an initiative they have to help young entrepreneurs.

    Other work

    Outside of running De Roemer he talks worldwide to businesses, corporations and schools on ‘Leadership’ and the ‘Science of Achievement’. He is also part of Hewlett-Packard's worldwide 'Influencer Advisory Board' and is a 'Thought Leader' for PayPal's People Economy Campaign . He is an Ambassador for the British Governments 'GREAT' Campaign and also the Duke of Edinburgh's Awards (DofE).

    He was appointed Member of the Order of the British Empire (MBE) in the 2016 New Year Honours for services to expeditions, youth development, and charity.[1]

    Charity

    He is a strong advocate for raising awareness and money for important causes, from empowering people to reach their potential to looking after and protecting our environment.
