Juventa (born Jordin Maikel Post; October 4, 1994) is an Amsterdam-based Dutch Trance DJ and producer. He is best known for his tracks ‘Move Into Light’ featuring Erica Curran, ‘The Strip,’ ‘Xperience’ with Speed Limits and his remix of Tritonal’s ‘Now or Never.’ Since debuting in 2010 Juventa has gone on to release tracks on labels like Armada Music, Anjunabeats, Enhanced Music, Garuda Music, Black Hole Recordings, Perfecto Records, Magik Muzik, VANDIT, Flashover Recordings and Infrasonic Future.

Early life

Juventa was born in Groningen in The Netherlands but moved to Bovenkarspel in 1999 where he spent most of his life. His father introduced him to electronic music and after watching Tiësto perform in front of thousands of people for his Tiësto In Concert 2003 DVD, he decided to aim for a career in music.

Music career

2010 marked the start of Juventa’s teeming production career. His first original single came at the age of 15; a track called ‘Dreamers Diary’ on the Dutch label Crystal Clouds Recordings, which was followed up by his notable remix of André Glensk’s ‘Polish Pierogi’ through Infrasonic Future and his ‘Larry Mountains 54’ remix that was compiled on Anjunabeats Volume 8. Juventa continued to work with Infrasonic in the following months, releasing ‘Sapphire’ and his collaboration with Pulstate on ‘Somnia.’

That same year Juventa began his fruitful relationship with UK-based label Enhanced Music with his 2-track EP debut release “For That Special Girl / Just An Emotion.” Shortly after, he put out a second EP on Enhanced titled “Beauty Catch / Summernight Symphony.” That August Juventa was called out by the world’s Number One DJ Armin van Buuren on A State of Trance 469 as “the next big thing in Trance.”

In the following years Juventa continued to grow his discography with Enhanced, releasing tracks like ‘Gone With The Wind,’ ‘As You Are’ and his “A Thousand Words / Bente” EP in 2011, and in 2012 putting out ‘Metamorphose,’ ‘Roadtest,’ ‘405,’ which saw support from W&W, Gareth Emery, Dash Berlin, Paul van Dyk, Marcus Schossow, Kyau & Albert, Max Graham and more, and his hit single ‘Nothing But Less Than Three,’ which made its way onto Enhanced Sessions Best of 2012 mix.

In August 2013 Juventa released his biggest hit to date, ‘Move Into Light’ featuring Irish vocalist Erica Curran on Enhanced Music. The well-received single hit the No. 2 spot on Beatport overall, garnered radio play on BBC Radio 1 and Sirius XM’s BPM, and saw support from top DJs like Above & Beyond, Gareth Emery, Porter Robinson, BT, Armin van Buuren, Paul van Dyk, Benny Benassi, Myon & Shane 54 and ATB. Its coinciding music video saw equal popularity, receiving hundreds of thousands of views in a matter of days after its release and now collectively with its teaser video holds over a million views to date. That December Juventa was chosen to do a guest mix on Above & Beyond's Group Therapy #57.[1]

The well-received track was followed up by two more singles through Enhanced: ‘The Strip’ and ‘Bitsmash,’ which together were endorsed by the biggest names in the industry including Mat Zo, Super8 & Tab, Above & Beyond, Armin van Buuren, Ferry Corsten, Judge Jules, Ronski Speed, Gareth Emery, W&W, Paul van Dyk and more. ‘The Strip’ also became the 2nd of Juventa’s tracks to receive radio play on Radio 1 and BPM, the other two being his 2014 remix with Estiva on Tritonal’s ‘Now or Never’ and his collaboration with Speed Limits on ‘Xperience.’ In 2014 Juventa also released his remix of The Chain Gang of 1974’s ‘Sleepwalking,’ which was featured as the theme song for the Grand Theft Auto V video game.

Juventa’s current influences include Porter Robinson,[2] Zedd, Myon & Shane 54 and Mat Zo. Since the start of his career he has made official remixes for Audien, Ferry Corsten, Dash Berlin, Arty, Tritonal, Super8 & Tab, Cole Plante, Myon & Shane 54 and Jorn van Deynhoven, to name a few.

Touring

As a DJ Juventa has toured internationally and performed alongside artists including Armin van Buuren, Nicky Romero, Sander van Doorn, Diplo, Ferry Corsten, Tritonal, Dash Berlin, Gareth Emery, W&W and more. His first DJ show took place in December 2010 at Luminosity pres. Christmas Edition in Leiden, The Netherlands when he was just 16 years old.

By 2012 Juventa had matured both as an artist and performer and was playing alongside greats like Paul Oakenfold at Passion and at Digital Society with Paul van Dyk. In April 2013 Juventa was chosen by Armin van Buuren to play the massive ASOT 600 Den Bosch to over 300,000 people in his homeland the Netherlands. Other performances that year included the World DJ Festival in Seoul, Trancefusion in Prague and Trance Nation 2013 at the UK’s Ministry of Sound.

2014 is set to be an equally busy year for the young producer as he continues to tour to events like Down Under Festival in Australia and Digital Society with Gareth Emery in May.
