Juventus IF is a Swedish football club located in Västerås.[1]
Background
Juventus Idrottsförening (Juventus Athletic Association) was formed in 1948 in Västerås as a fan club to one of the world's biggest football teams, Juventus FC from Torino in Italy. Juventus IF was founded by Italians who came to Sweden in the 1940s and is considered the oldest football club in Europe that was started by immigrants.[2]
Their biggest sporting success came under the current management team headed by chairman Franco Pertunaj. In 2008 Juventus IF won the "triple" by gaining promotion to Division 4, winning the VLT Cup and also winning the DM (district championship) in Futsal. In 2011 another significant achievement was made by gaining promotion via the play-offs to Division 3.[3]
Juventus IF currently plays in Division 3 which is the fifth tier of Swedish football.[4] They play their home matches at the Råby IP in Västerås.[5]
The club is affiliated to Västmanlands Fotbollförbund.[6]
