K-Michel Parandi

K-Michel Parandi, (Kay Parandi) is a New-York based Screenwriter and Film Director known to favor political and philosophical themes.

In 2005, he wrote and directed a musical adaptation of the "Red Riding Hood" which won the art-direction award at the Festival du Film de Paris. Parandi is also known for having directed a series of confidential movies presenting a futuristic Dubai for the biotechnology park DuBiotech A self described mythology engineer Parandi graduated in Philosophy and Social Sciences from Paris West University Nanterre La Défense. He was signed by Robert Newman (agent) at William Morris Endeavor in 2009, before joining United Talent Agency in 2013. Since 2015, Parandi has been concurrently managed by Gary Ungar at Exile Entertainment.

Career

In June 2009, it was announced that controversial French celebrity and filmmaker Mathieu Kassovitz known for his critical portrayal of France's political forces and regime, would co-direct with Parandi a project titled "Dust Motion". In 2012, Parandi sold the rights to Hollywood producer Lucas Foster. By 2014 the rights had reversed back to Parandi. By 2016, Parandi and Kassovitz decided to collaborate again in turning the picture into a series.

In 2012, Parandi wrote the original pilot for "From The Future With Love". It is a series in which society’s police is privately owned and only provide protection if you’ve paid for it. Ultimately the pilot was selected by the Art Directors Club of New York and was broadcast on March 14, 2016 at a TED event in Brussels. TED "Deep future" initiated a public discussion on the future of law enforcement. Since then, Parandi was hired by HBO to write a pilot on a different series. Later on, Parandi collaborated with the international division of 20th Century Fox to script-doctor and rewrite screenplays for Hong Kong director Dante Lam (2013) and Turkish filmmaker Tolga Örnek (2014).

As of late 2015, it was announced by the Game publisher Interplay Entertainment that Parandi will be developing a new title based on Interplay's catalogue in partnership with a Major film studio.
