K. A. Rasmussen AS (abbreviated KAR) is a Norwegian precious metal company, specialized in the fabrication of semi-manufactured bars and wires for various metal industries as well as catalysts for chemical industries. The company is the largest supplier of precious metals within the Nordic countries.
The company is named after its founder, Knut Andreas Rasmussen, who started the company (then a goldsmith workshop) in 1872.
With its head office in Hamar, Norway, the company has expanded into various European markets. It now has subsidiaries in Sweden, Denmark, Finland, Estonia, France, Belgium and Poland .
