K.P. Janaki Ammal

K.P. Janaki Ammal was the politician from Communist Party of India (Marxist) and president of All India Democratic Women's Association.[1] She represented Madurai East in the Tamil Nadu legislative assembly in 1967.[2]

Janaki Ammal born to Padmanabhan and Lakshmi in 1917. She became actress in a drama troupe where she married Gurusamy. In 1936, she joined Congress party and as inspired by the communist ideology, she joined Communist Party of India in 1940. After the party's split, she moved to the Communist Party of India (Marxist). She died on 1 March 1992.[2]
