K. Yasin Ashraf

K. Yasin Ashraf is a media analyst, writer, translator and a prominent teacher from Kerala, India.[1] He was a Professor of English language literature at Farook College, Kozhikode. Yasin won the M. M. Ghani award for best teacher at Calicut University in 2005.[2] Currently he is the Associate Editor of Malayalam daily Madhyamam and Managing Director of Media One television channel to be launched by madhyamam .[3][4]

Life

Yasin Ashraf was born at Perinthalmanna in Malappuram on 15 September 1951.[5] His father Kallingal Abdu was former editorial member of Chandrika Daily. His mother was P. Pathutty. He took his Ph.D in English Literature and served as the head of the English Department at Farook College for many years.[6]
