KCMI (96.9 FM) is a radio station broadcasting a Christian radio format. KCMI is licensed to serve the community of Terrytown, Nebraska, USA. The station is currently operated under Christian Media Incorporated.[1]

Broadcasting

CMI (Christian Media Incorporated) has offices located in Scottsbluff, NE, and broadcasts on 96.9FM, with translators 93.5FM in Sidney and 99.1FM in Rushville.

Programming

KCMI features both Christian teaching and music. Preachers/teachers featured include Chuck Swindoll, Berni Diamond, Ravi Zecharias, Woodroll Kroll, Charles Morris and James Dobson. The standard music played on KCMI is worship/praise, as well as some contemporary Christian hits. The station also has special programs dedicated to music aimed towards children, Classic Christian music, hymns, Christian pop, and Christian rock (see Local Programs, below). The station also carries nationally syndicated programs, such as Point of View, Classic Christian Gold, Focus on the Family, Haven Today, Adventures in Odyssey, Music Through the Night and My Money Life.

Local programs

Apart from the nationally syndicated programs listed above, KCMI mostly broadcasts local programming. Local DJs play the station's standard music format between 4:00-6:00am(MST), 7:00-8:20am, 10:00-11:30am, 1:30-4:00pm, 5:00-6:00pm, and from 10:00-11:00pm. In addition, the station features many local specialty programs, as listed below:

The Coffeebreak featuring Russ and Sherry is a talk show that often features interviews with people in the community. Praise/worship music is also played during this show, running weekdays from 10:00-11:00am(MST).

The Top 15 Weekly Worship Countdown counts down the top 15 worship/praise songs of the week. This show is hosted by Ryan and runs from 2:00pm to approximately 3:30pm of Fridays.

Weekday SonShine is a program dedicated to playing children's music, including Veggie Tales and Aussie Praise, and runs weekdays from 4:00-4:35pm. The show is hosted by Adam Scanlan (brother of the previous Miss America!) (Monday through Thursday) and Ryan (Friday), and is followed up with Adventures in Odyssey.

The Refreshing is an easy-listening program hosted by Russ between 6:00-7:00pm weeknights.

Classic Christian Music is played during the 7:00pm hour on weeknights. This is also hosted by Russ.

The SonShine Station is a Saturday morning program whose target audience is children. Although similar to Weekday SonShine, the SonShine Station features an hour and a half of children's music along with many other family programs, such as Paws and Tales, The Pond, and Down Gilead Lane, as well as a new episode of Adventures in Odessey. The SonShine Station is hosted by Adam and runs from 6:00-10:00am on Saturdays.

C-Shift is a Contemporary Christian music program running from 4:00-6:00pm on Saturdays. The show features a mix of AC and light rock.

Top 25 Contemporary Christian Countdown is a countdown program dedicated to the top 25 Christian contemporary and pop music. The program, hosted by Ryan, runs from 6:00-7:30pm on Saturdays and leads up to the 180Remix, listed below.

The 180Remix is a Christian rock/alternative program hosted by Ryan. The program also features hip-hop and harder-edged pop, and runs from 7:30-10:30pm on Saturday nights.

The 180remix Countdown is a 20 slot countdown program dedicated to Christian rock, alternative and CHR music, and is also hosted by Ryan.

Hymn Time Country Style, one of KCMI's most popular programs, runs from 6:00-10:00am on Sunday mornings. The show features older-style Christian music, as well as older Christian country. The show is hosted by Gary Almquist.
