KISKA GmbH is an award-winning design agency located in Anif-Salzburg, Austria.[1] KISKA Industrial Design was founded in 1990 as a one-man business by industrial designer Gerald Kiska.[2] In 1997, KISKA Creative Industries was formed and moved to its first office in Salzburg, Austria. In 2001, KISKA Design became a Private Limited Company.[3] There are four partners in the business: Sébastien Stassin (Chief Creative Officer), Paul Friedl (Partner and Head of Communications), Marcus Waldmann (Partner and Head of Product Design), and Julian Herget (Partner and Head of Brand and Research).

Expansion

Established in 1990 as a one-man business by industrial designer Gerald Kiska, the agency has expanded to 170 people from 30 different countries (as of 2016). KISKA operates from a 5.000 square metre building that includes a 1.000 square metre transportation design studio.[4] It moved into this building in 2009.[5] KISKA GmbH has subsidiary, KISKA Inc. that is located in Temecula, California and led by Steve Masterson.[6] KISKA also has a satellite office in Bamberg, Germany.

Ostensibly a design agency, KISKA GmbH also offers services in brand consulting and communications.[7] The agency expanded its services over time with the aim to create a consistent brand for its clients. This approach to design is referred to by KISKA as Integrated Design Development (I.D.D.).[8]
