Kalemat Arabia (Arabic: كلمات عربية‎) is a publishing company that was founded in 2007 in Cairo, Egypt, as an initiative to bridge the gap between the Arab and the western culture, by means of facilitating access to western knowledge for the Arab reader by providing translations of the Western cultural and intellectual best books into Arabic.

Partner projects

Kalemat Arabia is one of the partner publishers of projects that are interested in the reviving of translation in the Arab world:

• Kalima, a major new translation initiative by the Abu Dhabi Authority for Culture & Heritage, which funds the translation, publication and distribution of high quality foreign writing into Arabic.
• MBR Foundation - Tarjem Project. Tarjem is the Arabic word for translate. The Tarjem programme seeks to develop the translation process in the Arab World by translating foreign works into Arabic and vice versa. This program is funded by Mohamed Bin Rashed Al Maktoum Foundation.
