Kaleo is an Icelandic indie pop / rock / folk / blues band established in 2012 and their first major public appearance Iceland Airwaves Music Festival in November 2012. Their fame came through "Vor í vaglaskógi" as it was included on heavy rotation on Icelandic state broadcaster RÚV's radio station Rás 2 featuring on top of the stations Top 10.[1] This song is now used in the two first minutes of the original soundtrack of the very first episode of the TV series "Trapped".

In August 2014, the band released the video for “All the Pretty Girls” [2] Kaleo's single "All the Pretty Girls" is out to radio and now available on iTunes and Spotify.[3] The song garners over 3.5M streams on Spotify.[4]

In early 2015, Kaleo signed with Bruce Kalmick of Triple 8 Management, Atlantic Records,[5] and then moved to Austin, TX.[6] The band’s South by Southwest (SXSW) debut in 2015 garnered press from Esquire “40 Bands You Need to Hear” [7] as well as NPR’S The Austin 100: SXSW 2015 Feature and All Songs Considered SXSW 2015 Music Preview. In early April, the band visited and performed live on-air for KEXP listeners.[8] Later on in the month, The Fader premiered “I Can’t Go On Without You”.[9] “All the Pretty Girls” reached the Top 10 charts on Triple A in 2015, peaking at No. 9.[10] Kaleo released their second single "Way Down We Go" to iTunes, Spotify, and radio on Friday, August 7. The music video for "Way Down We Go" premiered the same day on Noisey Music by Vice.[11] This song was used in the original soundtrack of the tenth episode of the American series Blindspot, the FIFA 16 soundtrack and the season 5 finale of the TV series Suits. Their third single, "No Good", appeared on the Promo trailer[12] of the new Terence Winter TV series Vinyl, on November 16. The single was subsequently released on Apple Music and Spotify on November 20.[13][14]
