Kapamilya Box Office (KBO) is a premium digital terrestial television channel exclusive to ABS-CBN TV Plus users. It was initially launched in May 2015 as a pay-per-view channel intended for the historic boxing match between Manny Pacquiao and Floyd Mayweather Jr. It was formerly registered as the "TVPlus Xtra Channel" but became inactive after the coverage. By April 2016, the channel was renamed to KBO.
In order to acquire the channel, TV Plus box owners must subscribe thru text activation with an ABS-CBNmobile sim card.
Currently, the service is under a free trial period on weekends with programming that includes a movie marathon from the film library of Star Cinema and a catch-up marathon of ABS-CBN's primetime drama program Dolce Amore.[1][2] PPV events are also included to its programming, provided that the user thru text subscribes to a low-cost bundled service load which may include free data allowance from ABS-CBN's iWanTV online service.
KBO is the second and considered successful attempt to have a on-air subscription-based television channel in the country, after Intelvision 68 in 1992.
