Summary |
Karachi Area Control Center or Karachi ACC is located near Jinnah International Airport, in Karachi and is one of two Air Traffic Control Centers in Pakistan. Karachi Aea Control Center provides Air Traffic Services and Alerting Services to all air traffic and its region. It also expedites sequencing of arrivals and departures along STARs (Standard Terminal Arrival Routes) and SIDs (Standard Instrument Departures) for all of southern Pakistan, including some portions of the Arabian Sea. Certain exceptions include military airspace and lower-level airspace controlled by local airport towers and TRACONs.[1]
Karachi Area Control Center's area of responsibility falls within boundaries of Pakistan and below 30° North, above which starts Lahore Area Control Center's Limit. [2]
Karachi ACC is divided into:[3]
- Karachi Sector North
- Karachi Sector West
- Karachi Sector East
- Karachi Sector South (Only active in night, during 1830 to 0230 UTC)
Karachi Area Control Center is equipped with Indra's Aircon 2100 Radar System.[4]
