Coordinates: 40°09′50″N 45°34′20″E / 40.16389°N 45.57222°E Karchaghbyur (Armenian: Կարճաղբյուր, also Romanized as Karchakhpyur, Karchaghbur, and Karchaghpyur; formerly, Gedakbulag) is a town in the Gegharkunik province of Armenia. A walled settlement abandoned in the 1st century BCE, of the Persian or Hellenistic period, is being excavated.
