Karen Weldin Stewart is the Insurance Commissioner for the State of Delaware.
She was elected in 2008 to replace incumbent Insurance Commissioner Matt Denn, who did not run for re-election as he was seeking the office of Lieutenant Governor of Delaware. She unsuccessfully campaigned for the office of Insurance Commissioner in the 2000 general election[1] and the 2004 Democratic primary.[2]
In 2008, Stewart won a three-way Democratic primary election for Insurance Commissioner.[3] In the 2008 general election, Stewart was elected to office of with 56.9% of the vote over Republican John Brady's 41%. [4]S
