Kartik Aaryan (born 22 November 1990) is an Indian actor who appears in Bollywood films.

Career

Aaryan made his acting debut in 2010, as Kartik Tiwari with Luv Ranjan's romantic comedy Pyaar Ka Punchnama.[3] He portrayed the role of Rajat in the film and his performance was well received. Kartik was nicknamed "king of monologues" thanks to his 5-minute marathon dialogue on Rajat's frustration about his girlfriend.[4] The scene, considered the lengthiest long take scene done for a Hindi film,[5] was the highlight of the movie.[6] Later, he appeared in the romantic film Akaash Vani which was well received by the critics but didn't do well at the box-office.[7]

Subhash Ghai's film Kaanchi: The Unbreakable in 2014 was his next release and Kartik's avatar as a village leader was appreciated.[8][9] His recent release Pyaar Ka Punchnama 2 was a success. Kartik's performance was appreciated by the critics and received standing ovations in theaters for another monologue in the sequel. The scene is considered the lengthiest single shot monologue performed by an actor in Hindi cinema's history.[10][11]
