The Kashmir leopard was proposed as a subspecies of leopard in the Twentieth Century, with the taxonomic name "Panthera pardus millardi" (Pocock, 1930), native to Kashmir, in the Indian subcontinent and South Asia.[1][2] Whether or not it is a subspecies of leopard, separate from the Indian leopard remains to be seen, as with the Nepal leopard.[1]
