Kate Miner, maiden name Kate Lang Johnson (born September 7, 1984), is an American actress, model, and musician. She has acted in the feature films Fifty Shades of Black, The Campaign, Fired Up, Behind the Mask: The Rise of Leslie Vernon, and A Leading Man.

Kate was a lead actor on the NBC miniseries Persons Unknown and season three of the series Necessary Roughness, under her married name of Kate Miner. She also had leading roles in the ABC Family pilot "Phys. Ed" [1] and the NBC pilot "Holding Patterns."[2] through neither show was picked up to series.

Early life and acting career

Kate was born in Minneapolis, Minnesota. She is most widely known for her roles on the USA Network's Necessary Roughness and the NBC miniseries Persons Unknown. Kate's most notable film role was playing Will Ferrell's mistress in the 2012 comedy film The Campaign.

She has guest starred or recurred on Two and a Half Men, Scandal, CSI: New York, The Deep End, Boston Public, Malcolm in the Middle, Drake & Josh, CSI: Miami, Quintuplets, Summerland, Ugly Betty, ER, Life, Hellcats, and Secret Girlfriend. Her film credits include Fifty Shades of Black, Fired Up, A Leading Man, and the indie horror flick Behind the Mask: The Rise of Leslie Vernon. She appeared on season 3 of Hart of Dixie and performed with her band.[3]

In 2012 Kate married her college sweetheart, musician Justin Miner.[4] Kate sings and plays keys, mandolin, and harmonica in their band, Miner.[5]

Modeling career

Kate has appeared in national campaigns for Gap Fit, Victoria secrets, Skechers, Levi's, Abercrombie & Fitch, Hollister, Zinc, Fabrizio Gianni, and DKNY.

Music career

Kate and Justin self-released their debut album "Into the Morning" in 2014.

The track "Hey Love" appeared in the movie Project Almanac.[6]

Their tracks "Hey Love" and "Golden Ocean", appeared on season two of CW's Hart of Dixie.[7] The band later performed their song "Carousel" on the show in season three.[3]

Their track "Emperor Norton" appeared on MTV's Slednecks.[8]

Their track "Golden Ocean" appeared in the film A Leading Man which Kate also acted in.
