Katti Batti is an Indian romantic drama film directed by Nikhil Advani and produced by Siddharth Roy Kapur under the banner of UTV Motion Pictures. The film stars Kangana Ranaut and Imran Khan in the lead roles.[2] The first look of the movie was revealed on 12 June 2015,[3] and the trailer of the movie was released on 14 June 2015.[4][5] The film was released on 18 September 2015.[6][7]
Plot
Madhav 'Maddy' Kabra (Imran Khan) is an architect who is in love with Payal (Kangana Ranaut) because of her attitude towards life. They were in a live-in relationship for 5 years until a sudden turn of events makes Payal leave Maddy. She gets cancer and he finds out this is why she left him and he goes after her. In the end she dies and Maddy is left promised to keep their love alive.

The soundtrack of Katti Batti was composed by Shankar Ehsaan Loy & lyrics penned by Kumaar. The first song titled "Sarfira" was released on 12 August 2015. The music rights for the film were acquired by Zee Music Company. The full audio album was released on 27 August 2015.[8][9]

Katti Batti grossed approximately ₹5.28 crore (US$780,000) on opening day.[10] Its two days total stand at ₹10.53 crore (US$1.6 million) as it collected same collection on its second day as it collected on its first day.[11] The film grossed around ₹15.74 crore (US$2.3 million) in its first weekend.[12] On its fourth day the film collected ₹1.91 crore (US$280,000) nett.[13] The film collected ₹1.60 crore (US$240,000) nett on its fifth day.[14] On its sixth day the film collected ₹1.41 crore (US$210,000) nett.[15] The film collected ₹22.5 crore (US$3.3 million) nett in its first week worldwide.[16]
Overseas
The film grossed an estimated ₹7.72 crore (US$1.17 million) internationally within its first four days.[13] By the end of its first week, the film had grossed approximately ₹9.39 crore (US$1.42 million) internationally.[17]
