Katwa Kashiram Das Institution

Kashiram Das Institution is the largest and oldest Higher Secondary School in Katwa Sub-Division, West Bengal.[1] It was established in 1857, and named after Kashiram Das, an important poet in medieval Bengali literature, whose Bangla re-telling of the Mahabharata, known as Kashidasi Mahabharat, is a popular and influential version of the Mahabharata legend in Bengal.

It was known as Cuttwa High School at the time of establishment and the chief patron for establishment was the S.D.O Hare Krishna Deb Bahadur, a member of the Royal Family of Sobha Bazar. Jagadish Chandra Bose was once a student of this school.[2]
